About This Experience

Classic Canal Tour & The Harbour is Stromma's longer route: 1 hour 45 minutes from Ved Stranden 26, always live-guided in English and Danish. It goes beyond the one-hour loop into the outer harbour and Nordhavn. On the dates we checked in October 2026 it cost $37 per person, about the same as Stromma's own fare of DKK 249.

Along the way you pass the Little Mermaid at Langelinie, Amalienborg Palace and the Black Diamond extension of the Royal Library. The extended route also takes in the Genetically Modified Little Mermaid, a sculpture group a few hundred metres from the original, and continues to Nordhavn, the former industrial port now rebuilt with new housing and architecture.

It suits travellers who want more than the classic hour, and anyone curious about the modern side of the harbour as well as the palaces. The boat is covered, so it works in poor weather, and the guiding is always live, never an audio track.

The length cuts both ways: 1 hour 45 minutes is a long sit for small children. There are also fewer sailings than on the one-hour tour. On the date we checked there was a single departure, at 14:00, so book ahead if your days are fixed.

Really great tour of the harbour. Was the perfect amount of time and easy to locate. Only thing we didn’t go into the Nyhavn canal but not sure boat could have fit.
